Background and Need
The project was commissioned by the senior leadership of the Scottish Government following several unwanted incidents and deaths in prisons over the past year. SPS was given a clear mandate to find solutions that could prevent similar incidents in the future. After thorough evaluations, they chose EloCare.
Why EloCare?
EloCare uses patented radar technology developed in Norway to provide non-contact vital signs monitoring and respiration monitoring without the need for cameras or physical contact. The breathing sensor monitoring technology makes it possible to:
• Detect critical situations early
• Prevent unwanted incidents
• Safeguard privacy and dignity of inmates
SPS has not previously tested comparable solutions but has been convinced by Elotec's experience, references, and radar technology.
